Meet the Team

Jamie

Managing Director

Jamie works on the corporate side of the business while also supporting the wider team across live and experiential projects. With over three decades of experience, Jamie has seen technology evolve firsthand and has been instrumental in ensuring the company moves with constant changes in client needs. He makes sure as a company we are making the right social and ethical decisions.

Having worked with blue-chip clients to touring bands, Jamie thrives on delivering state-of-the-art solutions and service that consistently exceed expectations.

A frustrated musician at heart, Jamie’s drum kit is gathering dust and the walls are lined with guitars… In his downtime, he can often be found out with his family and dogs enjoying the sea and countryside.

If you’re visiting the office, bring biscuits – fruit shortcakes are Jamie’s favourite.

John

Head of Production/Project Manager

John’s years of production management mean he’s amassed a wealth of knowledge. He works on our special projects dealing with all aspects of event production and health and safety on site. A lighting designer at heart, he’s passionate about delivering unique events.

We asked John: what’s the most memorable JHAV event you’ve worked on?

“Without a doubt, Illuminate Festival of Light. Playing a lead role in bringing a light festival of that scale to Plymouth has been an amazing experience. I’ve worked with student and internationally acclaimed artists whilst also getting the opportunity to be creative myself! Watching people walk around the site, listening to their conversations and how much they enjoy it makes all the hard work worthwhile.”

Sarah

Office Manager

Sarah is the glue that holds the JHAV office and team together.

She’s often the first point of contact for clients and when she asks how you are – she genuinely means it. After more years than we care to admit as an event hire office manager, her experience of caring for the team is second to none. And for her, JHAV has always been about the people: the team (past and present), the freelancers, the clients who trust us and the suppliers who help make the impossible happen.

Outside of work, Sarah’s hobbies include listening to her ever growing vinyl collection, kettlecise class on a Saturday morning and weekly swims (alas not sea swims). She enjoys exploring the beautiful South West with her dogs and if you’re making coffee, hers is an Americano with oat milk.

Stewart

Warehouse Supervisor

Stewart has spent many years working closely with us as a JHAV client prior to coming on board. As Warehouse Supervisor, it’s Stewart’s job to ensure the warehouse runs like a well-oiled machine and is always on hand to help the team with any issues, putting his 35 years of industry experience to good use. Stewart likes that JHAV is a close knit, family-run business where the team look out for each other every day.

Outside of work, Stewart is currently renovating his sixth house, an 18th century farmhouse. He is a big fan of milk chocolate hobnobs, 80s music and The Italian Job (but definitely not the remake!). Stewart also plays the trombone, but is currently suffering from lack of practice.

Jerome

Event Technician/Project Coordinator

Personable and always with a smile, Jerome’s attention to detail on site is first class. He loves having a joke and is never afraid to ask a question. He has lots of hobbies including the gym, hiking / exploring Cornwall, airsoft, clay pigeon shooting and national hunt horse racing (both watching and syndicate ownership!)

We asked Jerome: what’s the best part of working for JHAV?

“For me, JHAV is definitely a continuously growing company but managers to keep the close-knit community and family feel. JHAV gives staff and freelancers the opportunity to grow and build their skills with a solid support network behind them.”

Bob Long

Event Manager

Bob has been part of the live events world for over three decades, with a career spanning theatres, conference venues and large-scale outdoor events.

Before joining JHAV in 2026, Bob worked on everything from National Trust and English Heritage outdoor events, to pre-Wimbledon tennis tournaments, to three-day free festivals on Plymouth Hoe with crowds of 40,000+. He’s also organised corporate conferences and product launches across the UK and internationally, including Miami and Singapore.

Fun fact: Bob is from Barry, the home of Gavin & Stacey, and his first job was selling ice cream from a van. Outside of work, he enjoys rugby (though being Welsh, discretion may be wise!), family time and holidays in Cornwall.

With a rich background of 12 years of stage and production experience spanning the South West, London and beyond, Sarah is looking forward to using her organisational skills to support a range of exciting events.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys practicing yoga, running (a bit) and walking in the woods with her family.

Oliver

JHAV Technician

Having had an interest in the world of events from a young age, joining JHAV as a technician was a natural step for Oliver. He has built up a wealth of practical experience and has become a highly respected member of the team. Specialising in lighting design, installation and operation, Oliver’s role is varied and means he can be found in the warehouse prepping kit one day and out installing lighting and staging at an event the next.

Oliver enjoys his role because it allows him to work collaboratively with the whole JHAV team on a variety of projects in a variety of locations. He also likes that working as a technician allows him to see behind the scenes of a range of events. Oliver spends most of his free time with his friends and enjoys going on long walks with his family and their dogs.

Our freelancers are some of the best in the country and support us on a range of disciplines such as lighting, audio, installations and production. We couldn’t do this without them!

We’re always on the look out for more freelancers to work with, so drop us an email if you’re interested!
